Tears of the Saints

Tears of the Saints- Leeland.
I walked through school today listening to Tears of Saints on my iPod. It was such a heartbreaking walk as I watched tens of hundreds of students just pass me by, knowing that the majority of them did not know Jesus. In fact, at this school, they are probably being taught everything in opposition to the truths of the Christian faith. From being at Berkeley for just a few months so far, I already cant get over how incredibly caught up in grades and future careers people are here. That is their goal and that is what people here describe as giving them satisfaction in life. It's natural of course, everyone wants to be recognized and appreciated for what they are able to make of themselves.
But i guess I wonder if people really know what they are chasing after and if when they've accomplished their goals, they will find lasting satisfaction. Because the I know there's something better for them out there.

So many times, it seems hopeless to reach a campus so lost and far removed from spiritual truth. But yet, I was reminded and encouraged by the book of Judges a couple weeks ago. In Judges, God, time after time, sends judges to the Israelites in efforts to save them and warn them to turn away from their sinful ways. Time after time, the Israelites reject God's nudges. It may have seemed futile to the judges during their wrestle with the Israelites, but God remained sovereign through every successive generation. Although progress wasn't apparent immediately in the lives of the Israelites, God worked powerfully in His own way and timing and eventually brought revival to Israel.
God cares soo much about the students, faculty, staff at Berkeley. He loves each one more than we could ever fathom, and He is working sovereignly on this campus. I want so much to be a part of God's love story to His children at Berkeley. God I wanna be your hands and feet...

Tears of the Saints
Leeland
There are many prodigal sons
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People’s hopes have fallen to the ground
From failures

This is an emergency!

There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We’re crying for them come back home
We’re crying for them come back home
And all your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

There are schools full of hatred
Even churches have forsaken
Love and mercy
May we see this generation
In its state of desperation
For Your glory

This is an emergency!

There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We’re crying for them come back home
We’re crying for them come back home
And all your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children, in Christ you stand!
Sinner, reach out your hands!
Children, in Christ you stand!

There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We’re crying for them come back home
We’re crying for them come back home
And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home
